Over the years, we've fallen in love with Edmonton and all that it has to offer. Whether it's the local cafes, art scenes, or quiet corners of the city, Edmonton has a way of making you feel at home.
We hope to share this feeling with you, so below we've listed just a few of the places we’ve come to frequent and love, and we hope you do too!
This is a special place! Not only was it a favourite hangout of ours during law school but it's also where we went for celebratory beers the night we got engaged!
Located near the Old Strathcona Farmer’s Market, this spot is known for some of the best burgers in town! It also happens to be the scene of many pre and post theatre dates for us.
Just a short walk from our place, this local favourite is a beautiful spot to grab a pastry and a latte, then wander the unique shops on 124th Street in the neighbourhood.
This is a common stop for us when friends and family are visiting. Although they are known for their brunch, you can also grab a delicious lunch, dinner, dessert, or a coffee while shopping on 124 street.
Another short walk from our place, Arcadia is a great spot for local beer, European-inspired outdoor atmosphere and offers a dog-friendly patio to boot.
A classic Fench bistro with great wine and amazing cocktails. This is a new favourite of ours, located just off 124 street in Edmonton’s Westmount neighbourhood.
An Edmonton classic - this historic theatre is where we saw Singing in the Rain in our early months of dating. Bonus: TIp: it's located very close to The Sugarbowl, so grab a bite and catch a movie...YEG style.
Check the schedule online or the marquis to see what’s playing.
Open on Saturdays from 8am-3pm, this is a great stop for local produce, snacks and local artisan shopping. We recommend going in the morning and then swinging by Next Act or The Sugarbowl for brunch or lunch afterwards, or just wander the many fun shops on Whyte Avenue nearby.
We wouldn't be true Edmontonians if we didn't recommend the beauty that is our River Valley. Grab a coffee and spend an hour or two taking in the beauty of Edmonton’s River Valley trail system, along the North Saskatchewan River. A great (free!) way to enjoy our city, and the many birds and squirrels who share it with us.

Feeling more adventurous? Mix nature with adventure and try out a fun segway or bike tour while enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
Or, if you prefer to take in the River Valley from the water, the Edmonton Riverboat cruises are a fun and beautiful way to enjoy the scenery ... cocktail in hand.
If you’re looking for some indoor fun the RAM is very close to our wedding venue, and is a fun and informative way to spend a few hours learning about natural history, and checking out some very cool bugs (if you’re into that!). They also have an awesome gift shop that carries many local products worth exploring.
