Spencer and Hailee grew up down the street from one another in Irma, but it wasn’t until their early 20s that they became the inseparable pair they are today. In 2012 Hailee and Spencer both moved to the south side of Edmonton, less than 10 minutes apart. They started spending time together sharing wine, episodes of Game of Thrones, and debriefs of both the Bachelor and their lives. In those years it became apparent that Hailee and Spencer shared not only a lifelong proximity to one another, but also a sense of humour, outlook on life, distaste for BS, and an appreciation for reality tv (shout out to the Real Housewives and Southern Charm).
While Spencer left Hailee for a brief interlude living back in Wainwright it didn’t take long for Spencer to come to her senses and relocate to St. Albert. By 2022 Hailee and Spencer were back living less than 30 minutes apart, as it should be. Spencer and Hailee have shared adventures together in Mexico, the Rocky Mountains, California, and most recently a spooky season adventure to New Orleans in October 2023.
Spencer works as a Corporate Health Safety and Environment Specialist with MasTec Canada, and lives with her partner Dustin, and their dogs Karma and Lupin in St. Albert.
Alyssa and Hailee met in kindergarten in Irma, Alberta, and have been close ever since. Hailee likely spent 80% of her childhood at Alyssa’s parents’ farm, where Hailee, Alyssa, Ashton, Lacey, and many other friends spent their evenings and weekends filming high quality Spice Girls videos on Billy Inkin’s camcorder, watching all the movies that Hailee wasn’t allowed to watch at home (American Pie, The Grudge, Lake Placid, Jeepers Creepers) eating (and in their teen years, drinking) Billy and Audrey out of house and home, and generally running wild around the farm.
When not working as an LPN or keeping up with her two young kids, Silas and Tinsley, Alyssa can be found caring for her dogs, cats, and too many chickens, turkeys, and guinea hens to count. Alyssa is the life of the party and we cannot wait to tear up the dancefloor with her at the wedding!
Lacey and Hailee have known each other for as long as they can remember (likely longer!). They grew up around the corner from one another in Irma, Alberta, were in the same class from Kindergarten through Grade 6, and Lacey’s mom’s sister (Bev) is married to Hailee’s mom’s brother (Doug) - so suffice to say they are best friends, basically cousins, and have been thick as thieves since the dawn of time.
Hailee and Lacey grew up running wild around Irma with Alyssa, stumbling around bush parties and Irma Days in their teens and twenties (also with Alyssa), and Hailee was honoured to stand by Lacey’s side as a bridesmaid at Lacey’s wedding in 2018 and to watch Lacey become a mother to her three kids.
Lacey now lives on an acreage north of Wainwright with her husband Derek, their kids Hadley, Taves and Leeland, two dogs (Buster and Spinner), two cats (Belle and Tuffy), two goats (Tina Turner and Betty White), and will surely have added some additional critters to the list by the time the wedding rolls around.
Megan and Hailee met at the end of their first year of University. They had both been hired to be floor coordinators in Henday Tower at Lister Hall, the main undergrad residence at the University of Alberta. Their bond was solidified when during changeover weekend (which was straight up hazing for the new floor coordinator hires) Megan was made to wear cloud pants, Hailee wore a tea cozy, and they both ran laps around a campfire in the Edmonton river valley in the middle of February. It was exactly as strange as it sounds.
Since that fateful February in 2011 Megan and Hailee have continued to support one another through all of life’s struggles and successes. Hailee and Conor have become close with Megan’s husband Jon since he entered her life in the fall of 2017, and Hailee was honoured to serve as a bridesmaid for Megan in 2024 while Conor pulled unofficial videographer duties.
Megan works as a pharmacist in Edmonton where she lives with her husband Jon, their son Freddie, and their golden retriever Queso (the Big Cheese).
Hailee, Conor and Sam all graduated law school together, but Hailee and Sam didn’t really get to know one another until they started articling at Bryan & Company in Edmonton. An unlikely pair, the 6’2” redheaded Sam, and the 5’2” brunette Hailee soon became inseparable, seen on a daily basis around the office heading for coffee, or in their offices together dissecting some legal, family, or social drama.
Through their articling year Hailee and Sam developed a deep and lasting friendship. They have supported, laughed and cried with one another through some of the most exciting and difficult times in their lives. After working together at Bryan & Company since 2017 Hailee left in September 2024 to pursue a new opportunity, and hands down the hardest part of that decision was knowing that she’d no longer get to have daily coffees with Sam. Luckily Hailee’s new office isn’t far, so they continue to find plenty of opportunities to meet up for coffee, lunch and hot yoga.
When not killing the game as a partner in the corporate department at Bryan & Company, Sam is also killing the game as a wife to her husband Drew, and a mom to their two daughters Molly and Peyton.
Brenner is Conor’s younger brother, and the middle child. Far from the “problem middle child” trope, Brenner is a deep-thinker and creative mind, and a well of talent.
Brenner joined Conor in Ottawa for a time and, like Conor, wandered the halls of Parliament as a House of Commons Page and Parliamentary Tour Guide. While in Ottawa, Brenner obtained his degree in English and History, and then a Masters in English literature. Unlike his older brother, Brenner’s essays were thought-provoking and not rushed. During his studies, Brenner also moved to Galway, Ireland, fully immersing himself in the literature, music, and culture of the Emerald Isles, and a pint of Guinness or two.
Brenner later toured through Ireland and elsewhere in Europe with Conor in 2017, after they both finished their studies. They visited Brenner’s old stomping grounds in Galway, met friends in Rome and near Paris, climbed Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh, and generally wandered the continent, spending some truly great quality time together, reminding Conor of all the time spent adventuring at the family cabin as kids.
More recently, Brenner returned to Saskatchewan, got his education degree, and now shares his passion for literature, teaching high school English in Prince Albert. He is also the piano accompanist for the school choir and soccer coach, and serves on the Board of the local Art Gallery, organizes charity musical coffeehouse evenings, has starred in productions of the Wizard of Oz (Scarecrow) and Clue (Wadsworth), and recently performed in Prince Albert’s Swinging with the Stars charity dance competition, performing an Irish jig duo that he picked up somewhere in Ireland.
Kienan is Conor’s youngest brother. He is gregarious, warm, and generally a golden-retriever of a person. He is unlikely to leave the dance floor.
Kienan was recognized during his high school years as a star athlete, but equally an asset when on the bench for cheerleading his teammates (and sometimes opponents) and keeping the experience positive for both teams. At the same time he performed in a number of school theatre productions, convincing his coaches to let him do both.
Before university, Kienan moved to Switzerland for his final year of high school. There he lived with a host family in Neuchatel, and travelled for school to China, Kenya, and around Europe, all while promoting the same values in his school sports, but now with all new sports more popular overseas.
After returning to Canada, Kienan obtained degrees in Kinesiology and Education from the University of Saskatchewan. He then moved home to Prince Albert, where he teaches primary and middle years Phys Ed. in French. Kienan has also performed in multiple theatre productions with Brenner and Conor, coaches Prince Albert’s youth basketball club team, and placed first in Prince Albert’s Swinging with the Stars charity dance competition, partnered with his now-fiancée, Tia, who is an artist and owns the Lemon Yellow Art School in Prince Albert.
Ian and Conor met in Ottawa in 2008, working as House of Commons Pages and neighbours in residence at the University of Ottawa. Through the years, Ian has been a constant source of fun, positivity, and encouragement, and true friend, regardless of distance.
During their first year of university, Ian, being a proud Newfoundlander, showed a knack for turning residence gatherings into kitchen parties, and leading the Page cohort across the Rideau River from Ottawa to Hull, Quebec, where they could legally enter the bar.
After their Page year, Conor and Ian moved in together and continued working together in various jobs around Ottawa and Parliament, now frequenting the pubs in Ottawa, like D’arcy McGee’s, and especially the Cock & Lion karaoke bar on Summer Saturday nights. They were eventually joined there by Ian’s now spouse, Emilia, who Ian serenaded weekly.
Ian and Conor stayed close after leaving Ottawa, with Ian even surprising Conor and Brenner on a trip to Rome to visit their mutual friend, Raph. Ian now lives in Toronto with Emilia, their daughter, Lara, and dog, Misia.
Tyler and Conor met in their first year of law school. They initially bonded over the strange hierarchy they observed between the first, second, and third year students, and the absurd but funny situations it created. This would become inspiration for future Law Shows.
Neither of them shying away from a spotlight, Tyler and Conor joined the Law Show club in their first year - a charity theatre production written, directed, and performed by law students, and a decades long tradition of shoe-horning legal puns into the script. They quickly took on roles as writers in their first Law Show production, Harry Lawter.
Sharing a similar (decidedly dark) sense of humour, Tyler and Conor became close friends and writing partners, eventually taking over future writing, directing and, frankly, the entire production in their second and third year Law Shows: Ferris Buellaw’s Day Off and Alice in Wonderlaw (which they also starred in, naturally). During this time, Tyler and Conor lived together in Edmonton, a short walk from school and Whyte Ave in a bright apartment known to friends as The Terrarium.
While changing the face of amateur theatre at the Faculty of Law, Tyler and Conor did find time to study. In their second year, they won the Bennett Jones Health Law Moot competition, sponsored by the firm that now employs them both.
Tyler and Conor have remained close in the years after law school, frequently reminiscing about their theatrical masterpieces and the widespread critical acclaim they deserved. Tyler now lives in Calgary with his fiancée, Georgia, and her dog, Spot.
Kaelyn and Conor met in 2008, when they moved to Ottawa to work as House of Commons Pages, bonding quickly as prairie kids - Kaelyn from St. Albert, Conor from Prince Albert. To this day, Kaelyn has remained Conor’s consistent confidant and counsel.
During their Page year, Kaelyn and Conor spent their time running around Parliament Hill, and splitting time between the 4th and 5th floors of Morisset Library - the 4th, monastically quiet, and the 5th, known as “Club 5” for the decidedly social atmosphere and lack of any productive studying. They typically spent more time on the 5th.
After that first year, Kaelyn kept rising in Parliament, working for Ministers and eventually the Prime Minister’s Office. Conor and Kaelyn caught up regularly with Ian at D’arcy McGee’s pub, keeping updated on each others’ lives and offering advice where needed, Conor and Ian often requiring a little more. From here they would also coordinate their attendance at any political events (regardless of the party) that were supplying free food and beer, including even a garden party at 24 Sussex, skillfully arranged by Kaelyn.
Kaelyn and Conor kept in touch after Conor left Ottawa, and eventually ended up in Law School together, where Kaelyn also got involved in Law Show, becoming the show’s no-nonsense producer, handling the business side of the production while Tyler and Conor managed the creatives.
Kaelyn and Conor have continued to confer on life matters, and Kaelyn has become close with Hailee as well, hosting her and Conor in New York while Kaelyn worked there for a major US law firm. Kaelyn is now back in Edmonton, where she lives with her doodle, Wallis. Somehow, even after all these years, Conor and Kaelyn have no photos together.
